About CVDRMP
The Central Valley Dairy Representative Monitoring Program is a not-for-profit group of more than 1,000 Central Valley dairies, organized and overseen by directors elected from its membership. The group's purpose is to reduce regulatory costs for members by administering a representative program for dairies. Membership in this voluntary program fully substitutes for individual monitoring requirements currently in regulation .
CVDRMP’s mission is to:
• Monitor groundwater quality to evaluate impacts from management practices;
• Conduct research to develop improved management practices where needed;
• Prepare and submit annual monitoring reports to the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (Regional Board) on behalf of its member dairies; and
• Prepare and submit a summary report of recommendations on behalf of its members to the Regional Board no later than April 2019, based on results of the monitoring and research conducted by CVDRMP.
A dairy's membership in good standing in CVDRMP is a lower-cost alternative than individual monitoring, and substitutes for the current regulatory requirement that all dairies install monitoring wells, submit annual monitoring reports and individually address impacts to groundwater quality where identified by monitoring.
